January 2026 MOVE Newsletter: A Simple Reset for the New Year

Welcome to the first issue of the MOVE Newsletter! I’m glad you’re here! Let’s begin with a simple movement you can do right now.

Movement

High Row

Extend your arms straight out in front of you at shoulder height, palms facing down. Bend your arms and draw your elbows back as you gently squeeze your shoulder blades together. Hold for a count of two, then extend your arms forward again. Continue the movement for 30–60 seconds.

One-minute Reset

Sit comfortably. Inhale slowly, welcoming what you want more of this year (e.g. strength, confidence, patience). Exhale slowly, letting go of something you’re ready to leave behind (e.g. self-doubt, fear, perfectionism). Repeat for one minute to ease into the new year with intention.

Click the image below and take a quick break from sitting to give your body the reset it needs! This 5-minute "2026 themed" movement and stretch routine helps release muscle tension, improve posture, and get you out of that desk-slump feeling.

Excerpt

"Exercise is a journey, not a destination. It must be continued for the rest of your life. We do not stop exercising because we grow old, we grow old because we stop exercising.” - Dr. Kenneth Cooper, American Medical Doctor

I’d add that the goal isn’t to exercise the same way forever, but to keep movement part of your life in ways that evolve with you.

Until next time, keep taking a stand for your health! 😊
